I.R. MATRIX

The IR Matrix laser handpiece utilises energy from a diode laser and Infrared heat to induce collagen formation, thus softening facial lines eg frown lines, laughter lines, forehead, cheek, neck and decolletage lines more naturally. There is no downtime associated with this and a course of 5 treatments monthly is recommended to see the best results.

LASERSCOPE KTP LASER

Starpulse is designed to treat both vascular and pigmented lesions.

Starpulse gently dissolves the unwanted discolouration caused by vascular or pigmented lesions, leaving your skin smooth and beautiful.

Vascular lesions

Vascular lesions are areas of overgrown or enlarged blood vessels. These vary in colour from red to purple and range in size from a spot to large areas of the body. Seen as visible veins, spider veins or port wine stains, they are quite common and are either congenital, acquired through exposure to the sun, a result of oral contraceptives, hormone therapy, or the natural process of aging.

Pigmented lesions

Pigmented lesions are light tan to brown and black areas of discoloration on the skin. In these areas, the body has collected more pigment, creating age spots, freckles and brown birthmarks. These are congenital or acquired through over exposure to the sun.

IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE VASCULAR LESIONS, STARPULSE IS THE RIGHT TREATMENT FOR YOU.

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS

Q. Does a Starpulse treatment hurt?

A. Starpulse is known as the "gentle laser." Patients feel virtually nothing up to a sensation of a hot pinprick for a fraction of a second. It is so gentle that local anaesthesia is seldom necessary.

Q. How does Starpulse work?

A. Starpulse is a revolutionary technology that treats vessels with a series of laser light pulses. These pulses are absorbed into blood cells, causing the blood to heat and coagulate. This leaves the blood vessel walls unsupported, causing them to collapse. Then, after the treatment during the healing process, thesevessels dissolve within the body. With the vessels gone, the treated area returns to the natural colour of your skin.

Q. How is a Starpilse treatment done?

A. The Starpulse treatment is performed at The Cosmetic Clinic. Treatment consists of placing a small handpiece or scanner against the surface of the skin and activating the laser. Because of the brightness of the laser light, you will be asked to wear some form of eye protection.

Q. What should I expect after laser treatment?

A. You will experience a slight redness in the treated area which will go away within a few days. Side effect are uncommon and usually minimal. You will be given full instructions for skin care after treatment. It is recommended that sunscreens be used, especially to help avoidgetting these lesions in the future.
